As part of the exciting Global Visionaries Project, 2008 saw the much awaited launch of a world-wide initiative that sets out to search and identify those young visionaries and leaders, whose inspirational projects are making a positive difference to the world. We wanted to uncover just some of the uplifting stories behind these young activists as they face up to what is rapidly becoming, one of the most critically important junctures in human history. So far, we've brought together the passionate thoughts and feelings of this young generation of leaders and pioneers, social changers and activists, by asking each of them to submit a short vision statement of hope for the future.
Our core objective from the very beginning has been to capture the energy, spirit, belief and enthusiasm of today's young global generation of change-makers, by publishing a series of uplifting and inspirational books: Young Visionaries for the 21st Century- 100 Words to Help Inspire the World... The first of which will publish in 20011. Subsequent books will follow, and all profits from these publications will be channelled back into The Imagination Project, an innovative scheme that looks to fund, support and encourage those young writers and filmmakers, who are re-imagining a more just and sustainable world. Through our philanthropic backed initiative, our aim is to reach out to those story tellers from across all cultures, creeds and religious backgrounds, whose dedication and sheer commitment to action is helping to shape a more peaceful fulfilling and hopeful future. Stories, and the human lives behind them, help us to gain a better perspective, understanding and appreciation for how other cultures live. Which is precisely why we feel so strongly about the long term goals of the The Imagination Project. With this in mind, we have developed a network of young leaders and change-makers, who with your help and support, can come together at an annual change-makers and visionaries conference.
