"An amazing story! We don't have to face death to relate to and learn from the important revelations movingly described by William Murtha as he confronted drowning in the sea.
This important book takes away any doubt that there is an energy force out there ready to help us find our way…we need only listen."

Supported by various sponsorships, grants and also funding through the The Imagination Project, Healing through the Arts is just one of a range of exciting research and workshop programs where we explore how art and nature has the potential to inspire and heal people in positive ways. One of the prime intentions of this pioneering initiative is to study the numerous physiological, emotional and psychological benefits that nature and the creative arts, can offer to those who are suffering from either depression or emotional distress. What we're looking at closely is the scientifically proven data showing how physical and mental health can dramatically improve once somebody reconnects back with nature. What we're also discovering through our extensive research is what many ancient and traditional peoples have believed for eons:
From the research and statistics we are compiling, we no longer feel it's appropriate for children to be taught a solely 'reductionism' model in life sciences. We need to also incorporate a more inclusive, holistic and balanced education; one that identifies us as not being totally disconnected from the environment that sustains us. Instead, we need a more expanded form of education and eco-literacy, one that teaches us that, on a level of atoms, molecules, energy and consciousness; we are in fact not really separate at all.
Bringing together some of the world's pioneering teachers in consciousness studies, eco-psychology, eco-literacy and deep ecology, our long-term aim to establish Healing through the Arts as an effective teaching resource to facilitators, educators, artists and workshop attendees. We want to establish a program of innovative events, workshops and conferences that alert counsellors, psychologists, teachers and GPs to the important role that nature inspired art can play on a person's health, mind and wellbeing. Note: Late 2008, early 2009, we will be launching a series of empowering and inspiring workshops along the lines detailed above. Some will be artistic based events, others will be teaching workshops. If you are interested in this fascinating field of study, or if you feel that you can in some way contribute to the Healing through the Arts program, please contact us. Alternatively, if you'd like to register your interest for forthcoming workshops, please leave us your details. Contact us We look forward to hearing from you. |
