"An amazing story! We don't have to face death to relate to and learn from the important revelations movingly described by William Murtha as he confronted drowning in the sea.
This important book takes away any doubt that there is an energy force out there ready to help us find our way…we need only listen."

Identify-Fund-Empower-Engage-Illuminate-Inspire-Support The Imagination Project is a non-profit (501) organisation; set up with the core intention of identifying, assisting and funding inspiring Writers and Filmmakers. Our aim is to offer support, seed funding and advice to those writers and luminaries who are committed to raising awareness about the most critically important issues of our time; which include the areas of:
We would also add the profound thoughts of visionary Edwin Schlossberg, who once remarked, "The skill of writing is to create a context in which other people can think." It's a shocking and appalling revelation to discover that writers and journalists around the world, in general, are some of the poorest paid members of any given society. This is a travesty, especially when considered that accurately reported stories and facts, not only contribute towards social cohesion; they can also help to heal differences and bridge numerous religious divides. In short, sharing everyday human stories expands awareness, increases humility, breeds compassion, and can foster a greater appreciation for spiritual and cultural diversity. We feel that the outline intentions of the The Imagination Project are vitally important in view of the mounting problems facing humanity today. Which is why we have set out a long-term vision to support socially aware writers, internet bloggers and filmmakers, in every way possible. Because, if shared human stories really can promote better understanding and tolerance between different fractions, then surely, it makes common sense to provide the maximum support possible for all those story messengers who are lighting up the way ahead. The Imagination Project aims to equip those who have valuable stories to share, by supplying the necessary tools and expertise for today's fast changing media environment. As an increasingly multi-cultural society, in the west, we need to offer the required framework, support and funding so that a wide and eclectic range of writers and storytellers from all backgrounds, can bring their message out into the light. Part of the financial backing of this philanthropic venture will be directed into creating a conference for global storytellers and visionaries alike, where all those organisations linked to The Imagination Project can come together. This annual gathering will provide the perfect opportunities to network with editors, film producers, publishers and other heads of NGOs. Vision Through our philanthropic sponsored programme, our vision is to search out those writers and storytellers, filmmakers and investigative journalists, whose insight and message can inspire a profound awakening in global awareness toward cultural diversity, sustainability and climate change. What's more, this pioneering initiative will throw the spotlight on many of the activists and social movements that are now contributing to this great worldwide transformation. Through a number of positive initiatives and seed funding, our aim will be to provide the fertile soil so that the important work of these modern-media storytellers can grow and flourish. As a global society, we need to desperately change a lot of our previously held misconceptions about what constitutes a healthy, vibrant and thriving global community. In essence, we need to change the now outdated cultural story and replace it with new stories. Facilitate/Initiatives To ignite this vision, The Imagination Project has identified key elements that are fundamental to the continued success of today's carriers of positive news stories. We've identified several key areas of assistance that will allow a freelancer's work to be promoted to the largest and most diverse audience possible. To initiate this, the project will offer scholarships and bursaries to freelance writers and filmmakers from across every region of the planet. And it will look to support journalists and bloggers who are accurately reporting back on the true stories that simply must be told; stories that have to be shared; stories that can openly educate and inform, inspire and heal. Part-funded assistance will include:
The initial funding for The Imagination Project comes from three prime sources of revenue:
If you would like to support, sponsor or help a visionary writer or filmmaker in the future, then please go to Contribute. There, you'll find details on how your donations can be channelled into this worthy cause. Alternatively, Contact us for more information. Who we support Those who receive funding from the Imagination Project are usually recommended and nominated to us by others. We then follow a strict code of practice, (which includes stringent vetting), ensuring that the current work of the writers and filmmakers we choose to assist, is aligned to the project's ethics. We also ensure that our funding reaches people from the widest possible range of religious, cultural and social backgrounds. So please, if you know of an inspiring writer or filmmaker who could benefit from our help, let us know. Please go to nominate a visionary where you can leave details; remembering to state in less then 100 words, why that person should be put forward. Other Projects Running alongside the writers and filmmakers programme of support, are several other innovative and exciting projects within The Imagination Project. These include: *The Smile Project: A global-wide competition which fuses together stunning photographic images of humanity, kinship, love, the environment and nature, coupled with short insightful nuggets of written wisdom. *Writing & Filmmaking competitions *Healing Through the Arts: An ongoing research and educational programme that highlights the many physiological, emotional and psychological benefits that many art forms, and especially 'journal writing', can offer to individuals at times of crisis. *Creative-writing re-education programme: A unique scheme where published authors and writers are offered free professional tuition on how to become accredited creative-writing tutors, thus boosting their source of income. *Hotel & resort eco-education initiative: Employing some of the world's most noted visionary educators on sustainability, conservation & new business design, this project aims to re-educate hotel directors, managers and their employees about numerous ways in which tourist establishments can not only reduce their overall environmental impact, but also, make significant long-term savings to the running costs of their business. **If you feel that you have something to contribute to any of the above, then please contact us, stating clearly what resource or experience you can bring to any of our projects. We always appreciate and invite assistance in helping to establish The Imagination Project as a leading non-profit organisation for progressive and inspiring initiatives. |
